High Functing Autism

People with high-functioning autism or Asperger's syndrome do not have the delayed language development that's typically found in people with autism. In addition, people with high-functioning autism have average or above average intelligence. However, they may show other behaviors and signs similar to what's seen with other types of autism: delay in motor skills lack of skill in interacting with others little understanding of the abstract uses of language, such as humor or give-and-take in a conversation obsessive interest in specific items or information strong reactions to textures, smells, sounds, sights, or other stimuli that others might not even notice, such as a flickering light Unlike people with other forms of autism, people with high-functioning autism or Asperger's syndrome want to be involved with others. They simply don't know how to go about it. They may not be able to understand others' emotions. They may not read facial expressions or body language well. As a result, they may be teased and often feel like social outcasts. The unwanted social isolation can lead to anxiety and depression.

Kristen Carter

Carter and I were having a rare moment of peace before going to bed. Coleman was asleep(thank God),Connor went out with friends and David was still out of town. Carter looks at me and asked ""Mommy, do I have Daddy's eyes, I said, Yes, you do love bug", "mommy, do I have daddy's hair?...hands?...nose?" "yes you do and you have "his belly and his hiney," I said To which Carter replied " but mommy, I have your heart"!

So a few weeks after schools ended, Carter started stuttering. I don't know why because he has never done this before. Its like he knows what he wants to say he just can't get the thought to come out. I was wondering if anyone had gone though this. It seems worse when he is tired or off schedule. I'm doing less sugar and more water in his diet. Hoping it gets better soon.

I tooted in bed the other night and tried to blame it on Carter. I said ooh Carter you tooted to which he replied, no, no that's not my smell.

Flash Card Funny

Carter and I were going over flash cards and he did really well and said "thats a stinking record for my thinker"

Grandma is the President

Carter announced that Grandma was President, why? She tells everything she wants and she is older than all of the world.
We were watching FOX news at the time.

tasty bugs

Carter and I read a book called "Inside my Outside" by Dr.Seuss. It discusses your body, organs, bones, etc.. anyway we read about our taste buds and stuck out our tounges and looked at our taste buds. When David got home carter said Look at my taste bugs.
